Stupid Ventures

The old start-up question, when is it "good enough"? I keep saying, "I just want to fix one more thing and then I'll send it out to more of my friends... two months later I've emailed only 1 person. It's never good enough, it can always be better, I can't imagine being an actual artist.

So what does this have to do with SupidVentues? Tonight I think lifetack.com just got a lot better, so much so I actually sent out emails for friends and family! After getting very little feedback because very little people have been privy to the site, tonight we released a major overhaul to the UI to make it much cleaner looking and easier to sort through all the events/tacks. I hope you like it.

The latest stupid venture is now being working on by the entire team. Lifetack.com is a location based application that's main goal is to help you bookmark the location you've visited or are going to visit.

Now that ispym.com is out, Stupid Ventures has some bandwidth to focus on it's next stupid venture, even though there are a few new features that are in the works to be rolled out for IspyM.

iPhone app? Site involving parties? Podcasts? We'll we can say this much, we like to have fun so we currently have all of the above in the works, but you can check out the progress is the party related site @ stupidfunparty.com. The blog (tumblr) is part social experiment, part way for us give some behind the scenes action, and part just because.

IspyM is now live. We've got new posts flowing in every day even a user or two who isn't related to us. Some features include the ability to post conversations with anonymity as well as rating every post to let other know what's good and what's not worth reading.

IspyM.com', is offically in private beta and is undergoing it's first rounds of heavy testing and usage. The site's main focus is the sharing of instant message conversations. Users can post, rate, and share interesting or funny conversations for everyone to enjoy.

On the technical side, this is Stupid Ventures first foray into using Ruby on Rails as it's server-side technology. It's all the rage so we decided to give it a test run and so far found it very enjoyable to program in. We've chosen HostingRails.com as our rails host due to reviews, pricing, and general customer support. We recommend them if your just starting out or need to a few dedicated servers for your app.

In the upcoming weeks you should hear more about IspyM and it's public release!!!
